A practical overview of common privacy rights and how to exercise them in Kourtra.
Privacy rights vary by location and the relationship you have with Kourtra (for example, using Kourtra through a Community). This page is not legal advice.

Common rights
You may have the right to request a copy of your personal data or receive it in a portable format.
In Kourtra, you can request a JSON export of your account data from Account settings.
You may have the right to correct inaccurate personal data.
You can update common profile fields in the product. If you need help correcting information you can’t edit, contact us.
You may have the right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal and security exceptions.
In Kourtra, you can request account deletion from Account settings. We require reauthentication for this action.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to restrict processing or object to certain uses.
We’ll evaluate requests case-by-case and respond as required by applicable law.
How to exercise your rights
The fastest way to submit common requests is inside the product.
In Account → Data & Privacy, select “Request Data Export”. Exports are provided as a JSON download.
For security, we may ask you to reauthenticate before exporting.
In Account → Data & Privacy, select “Delete Account”. This action is designed to revoke active sessions and remove your account.
Some information may be retained where required for security, billing, or legal obligations.
Verification and response timing
To protect people and Communities from unauthorized access, we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. This may include reauthentication in-product or requesting additional information by email.
We aim to respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. In some cases, we may extend response time where allowed (for example, for complex requests).
Region-specific notes
If GDPR/UK GDPR applies to you, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and receive a copy (port) of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
If you are a resident of certain U.S. states (for example California or Texas), you may have rights to know/access, delete, correct, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing as defined by applicable law.
Kourtra does not sell personal information in the ordinary sense.
